Coca Cola Truck Comes To Harlow

http://www.yourharlow.com/2017/12/01/coca-cola-truck-comes-to-harlow/

The Coca Cola truck proved to be a major interactive event for families when it visited Harlow. Once a year the truck makes a visit to Harlow on it’s route up and down the country. Last year, in Harlow the arrival of the truck brought in 5000 people.
The event was a family centred, interactive experience, with a chance to sample free drinks, have pictures taken with a backdrop of the truck, sing-a-longs, there is a projector with animations of Santa’s workshop. People can also upload selfies on to the side of the truck with a message available to send to family or friends.
The Coca Cola team is made up of four brand ambassadors and seven local ambassadors. The events manager Livieu Jipescu expressed the importance recycling plays in this years event, ’Recycling is a big part, 80% of the rubbish will be recycled, all of the used coke cans will be back on the shelves within 6 weeks.’
This year’s return of the truck has seen a fantastic turn out, with a multitude of young people making the journey down after school with their families, wrapping up warm in the winter air and getting into the festive spirit.
Councillor Tony Durcan, Portfolio Holder for Regeneration & Enterprise, said: ‘We were delighted that the Coca Cola truck wanted to return to Harlow for a second year. This event follows the recent successful town centre Christmas lights switch-on which officially started Christmas in our town centre.’
‘Feedback on the truck visit has been positive and many of the shops across the town centre took the opportunity to stay open later.’
The Council along with the Harvey Centre and The Water Gardens has launched the Thursday late night shopping and free parking initiative, which runs every Thursday until Christmas. Other events include a giant snow globe in the Water Gardens from 2 to 8pm on 7 December where families can get a free picture inside the globe and a free ice skating rink in the Harvey Centre from 12noon to 8pm on December 14.

‘It’s going to be a great Christmas in Harlow Town Centre this year,’ said Councillor Durcan.
